The Bowdoin Room was named after Donald MacMillan’s alma mater Bowdoin College. MacMillan named his schooner ‘Bowdoin’. The schooner is now harbored in Castine at the Maine Maritime Academy.
Decorated in a floral print this queen room with fireplace is perfect for guests who want a little quiet getaway time. Avid shoppers will appreciate being able to bring all their shopping treasures in with no stairs to climb. Perfect for guests with young children as well. This room is away from the other guest rooms so is quieter for small children. There is a private entrance on the patio that makes it easier for children to go outside to play on the one acre grounds. There is a spiral staircase, built in place, that leads to the first floor of the house where the dining room and common spaces are.
Rates from $160 to $225 plus 8% lodging tax. ($25 + tax charge for 3rd and 4th guests in room.)
Please note: the best prices, availability and selection are available by booking directly from this website or by calling us in person. Use any one of the ‘Make a Reservation’ buttons to make your selection. Reservations made through a third party do not get the choice of room.
