First thing I have to report on is our brand new grandson! Cooper Lee was born August 31 in Virginia. We spent a few days this week visiting him and his happy parents. Here's himself just hanging out enjoying the day!

While we were off visiting, Bre had a spa day at camp. She looks mahvelous, dahling.

So, what's new in Freeport?

The Button Store building was purchased by Thomas Moser. The building was removed to another location. No news just yet what the space will be used for. The second building on that corner is still there. The report was that building was also to be moved to another location to be used as a home. More on that as we hear more info.

All of the demo on the old LL Bean Factory Outlet store seems to be completed. Just a big empty space remains as we await the construction of the new downtown shopping area.

Hope you had a chance to get to town for the LL Bean concert series this summer...wow! There was a spectacular line-up and almost every evening was perfect weather-wise.

The White Cedar Inn celebrated its 20th anniversary on August 18th with a cupcake party and a gift of the new logo mug to all the guests in the house that day.

New stores in town include HJ Beausoleil and Rite Aid. Gone are Tuesday Morning and Brooks Drugs. Expansion at Bean on the new Hunting and Fishing store is proceeding apace.

We have a couple of fun specials coming up in the near future...our 'All Things Maine' getaway, the Ghost Walk in October and the Gourmet Progressive Dinner in November are just 3 of the packages or specials we have in store in the upcoming months.

It was truly a beautiful first day of Autumn here today. Blue skies, cool breezes and warm sunshine. Just another day in paradise!
