Yes! The inn is a quick, 5 minute, 2 block walk to LL Bean. The other outlets and restaurants are almost all located within several blocks of the main LL Bean store. If you prefer to bring your car when shopping, there are many free parking lots and one free parking garage all in the downtown corridor.
Yes! A full, homemade, sit down (not buffet) breakfast is served each morning from 8 – 9:30 AM. The breakfast is ‘cook’s choice’ meaning the cook decides what yumminess he is making for breakfast.
Yes, with advance notice. We need to know before you arrive that you have food allergies so we can be sure we have appropriate food on hand. There may be times when every guest has a different food allergy. At those times we will have cereal (hot and cold) and yogurt on hand for a self serve breakfast.
Our historic building does not have rooms that meet 100% of ADA requirements. Depending on your needs, some of our rooms may work for you. If we cannot meet your needs, we recommend our neighbors at the Harraseeket Inn.
We update our website to meet new compliance codes as they are released. We want all of our guests to be able to interact with our website in a way that meets their needs. Presently we are updating colors and fonts to make them easily readable. We have completed updates on our photos so text readers know what the photo is. If you find something that doesn’t work right for you, please let us know. We cannot control third party websites you go to from links on this site.
Yes! Every room has its own bathroom. 6 of the guest rooms have en suite or in room bathrooms. The Lillian Room has a detached bath, meaning that bathroom is steps across the hall from the room. We provide you with the key to the bathroom door and bathrobes in which to scamper across the hall. No other guest room uses the Lillian bathroom.
Yes! Each room has a satellite-connected flat screen TV.
Yes and yes! The WiFi works throughout the inn, on the porch and patio and out on the lawn under the trees.
Yes and yes! We have an off street, lighted, paved parking lot. There is one parking spot for each room. Please let us know if you need to bring more than one car with you. If you arrive in town earlier than the 3 PM arrival time, please feel free to park your car here (no registration card needed) and walk downtown for lunch.
Yes! The Amtrak Downeaster from Boston stops here in Freeport. There is also a local taxi you can call for transport to the train station, airport or just around town. Freeport’s bus service, the Breez bus, runs daily to Portland.
It really depends on what you want to see! If you’re here for shopping and restaurants it’s not necessary to have a car as you can walk to almost everything from the inn. If you want to go to the beach or see some lighthouses, yes, a car is a good idea!
The closest airport is the Portland JetPort (PWM) which is 30 minutes away. Next is Logan in Massachusetts (BOS) which is about 2 hours away. In New Hampshire is Manchester (MHT) which is about 3 hours away. You can arrange for a taxi to bring you here from the Portland JetPort, or rent a car at the airport.
Yes, we take a $100 deposit at time of reservation to secure the room for you. We do not overbook as hotels do. Should you need to cancel, there is a $25 cancellation fee on any cancellation. The entire cancellation policy is here.
Yes! We have two rooms that are especially comfortable for families traveling with children: the Bowdoin has 2 queen beds, sitting area with TV and a private entrance directly to the patio. The Crow’s Nest has a king and a twin bed and is located upstairs, so better for older kids. If you prefer to not share the bedroom with your children, the Crew’s Quarters is a great option – 1 king, 1 queen bed, and 1 twin bed and 2 bathrooms. Each room has its own entry door and there are 2 connecting doors between the rooms. Also works well for couples traveling together.
Yes! All of our packages are listed here. We also have an inn to inn package where you experience two different inns during your stay. Babymoon packages, Maine foliage packages and shopping packages are also available.
We have one shared refrigerator, with ice, in the guest refreshment area. Also located here: a microwave, Keurig, hot water kettle, tea, coffee, hot cocoa, wine glasses, cheese boards, cutlery, plates, bowls, and assorted glassware. You’ll find crackers, nuts, cereal and afternoon snacks in the refreshment area as well. There is no access to a kitchen for cooking.

Guests who smoke are welcome to do so at the end of the driveway. There is no smoking allowed within 25 feet of the building. Please do not bring the butts back in the house with you. e-Cigs are treated as cigarettes.
We do not have a restaurant or bar. However, it’s an easy walk to the local restaurants. There is a small grocery store a few blocks away where you can purchase beer, wine, and spirits. We have glasses, ice, and corkscrews in the guest area. You are welcome to enjoy your adult beverages in the inn or outside on the lawn or porch.
Sorry, we do not allow pets of any kind.
Arrival times are between 3 – 7 PM. Departure time is at or before 11 AM. I have a wedding at noon, can I check-in at 10 to get dressed? We recommend reserving the room for the night before so it will be vacated and clean when you arrive.
We do not have sports equipment here at the inn, but we can help you find rentals nearby. Ring’s Marine will bring bikes and helmets to the inn. They will also put kayaks in the water for you in South Freeport. LL Bean has a series of Walk On Adventures where you go out with a guide for kayaking, SUP, archery, x-c skiing and snowshoeing.
Sales tax is 5.5%. Meals tax is 8% and lodging tax is 9%. We are required to collect the 9% lodging tax.
