Here’s something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time – refinish the brass light fixtures to be more au courant. Although, I think we’ve waited so long that shiny brass is coming back. Perish the thought. A couple of weeks ago Rock redid the mirror in the hallway, which was previously a kind of pinky mauve color. That came out so well he got the nerve to tackle the light fixtures.
Because it’s winter (You knew it was winter right? -18 this morning. 10′ banks of snow. Etc.) he set up a ‘painting studio’ in the basement using the huge cardboard boxes the new towels came in. (You knew we got all new towels, right? I have to remember to keep these posts up to date.) Anyhoo, he has a painting box in the basement to spray paint these lights without painting everything else.
The color for the new fixtures is a hammered bronze. I’m particularly impressed with how the lightbulb matches the fixture. Rock is slowly replacing all the brass with these newly redone fixtures. One more project almost finished.
